We were given complimentary garlic bread and the servers continued to refill the bread when we were running low. Even though it was heated, some of the seats near the window were a bit colder. We placed our order at the counter and then the server guided us to indoor-outdoor seating in a tent. I’m sure they deliver seafood to Restaurants all over Chicago-land! Exceptional seafood and something for everyone! … moreīoston Seafood was amazing. The salad was a masterpiece of fresh crisp salad greens, fresh beets, artichokes, olives and double cream feta cheese, heart of palms and the stars gulf shrimps and lobster tail! It can be a little intimidating as you look at the menu While we were there, they had 3 huge delivery trucks coming and going. We saw huge beautiful salads fit for a king so we tried the saganaki, grilled gulf shrimp and lobster Louie salad the next time we went. Every item was packed with flavor and tasted like it was just caught. We ordered baked clams, 1/2 pound fried calamari, wild caught Alaskan Salmon and fish & chips the first time. Everything is handsomely portioned and arrives at your table hot or chilled If it’s supposed to be. Literally, they have everything and an abundant variety of ways they prep items from pasta concoctions, fried, sautéed, baked, grilled, stuffed, chilled etc., We went back 2 Fridays in a row the food was so good! They do bring garlic bread for starters. It’s a seafood shop but also a place where you can dine and have the freshest seafood available. The fish is fresh but with everything above listed it left me very unimpressed. This nothing short of one of the very best seafood places in Chicago. The one star is for the product he’s serving. Or if you have serious food allergies like I do make sure you buy your fish there and cook it at home. So, make sure you order out, don’t dine in. Moral of this story is, this owner grew too fast, with no systems and no management. Four people cost us $222.00! Of course he’s growing the place! The labors cheap but the set up stays terrible. Meanwhile, my fiancé’s family is telling me how great this place is and how small it was when it started and how large it’s grown now. It’s clear none of these staff members hold a food handlers serve safe certificate which is ownership/managements fault. This lemon sauce is made with heavy whipping cream, making it a dairy product. I got a dairy based lemon sauce of sorts on top of my red snapper, which is not even listed on the menu as being served with that. I informed the clerk that I am lactose intolerant. How could anyone expect that though when they clearly do not care about food allergies either. Leaves you waiting for your drink for forever! Imagine how much more money they’d be making if the waiters had the ability to actually ring things in and place sections outside with a host sitting them in a numerical order so when food comes out the food runner would know which section has what numbers. Next odd thing is when you order your wine the server brings it out but you pay for it inside. It’s loud, people are running and plates are piled up on tables and chairs. Leaves them running around like crazy! Not much of a relaxing environment. The staff has to hold these plates while searching for these tables and play search and rescue while the food dies. Food runners are literally having to look at tables with numbers 10-90 all sitting directly next to one another. Imagine if you ordered dessert, it too I truly believe would come out at the same time!To make matters worse it’s a pick and choose barrage of tables with no system. The entrees came out one bite into them so our table had to be condensed with to go boxes immediately leaving us zero ability to enjoy our appetizers or entrees hot and fresh. We informed the clerk at the check out we wanted our appetizers first. It makes it uncomfortable due to the fact that the large portion plates won’t fit on the table. Sure the portions are huge but that doesn’t make the dining experience great. Forget ordering appetizers, soup, or a salad because it will all come out at the same time as your entrees. They’re able to turn tables over more quickly because they serve everything at once because they take the entire order all at once. I am sure they do this to save on labor as well as training proper servers. Let’s get started with the ordering process. I’ve heard them rave about this place for three years. Came here for my future father in laws birthday.
